Your trash. My treasure

Rewind: Saturday. 10.10.15

Place: Dyer, Indiana. Local garage sale.

Story: Browsing random junk and possible treasures. Stumble upon a free box full of books and old VHS films. Glance over at the sale owner and shake my head. Who would just give away literature with no monetary transaction implaced. No matter,  I dig and find several books that spark my imagination. I glance once more at the owner but they are distracted with other customers.

In my inner Smeagol/Yoda mix voice thinks to me self (lol), “Steal, this is. Quickies hobbits grab whats you wants and runs away swiftly with the precious.”

Fast forward:  Sunday. 10.11.15

Place: Schererville, Indiana. Cafe getting my coffee and books on.

Reality: I have a rather large collection of new books to read now. Back track to yesterday. I did offer money but they refused (just in case you think I tried to steal). The guy said instead, “Enjoy them as much as I did and please give them a good home. I have more books than my wife will allow me to have.” Props to you man. He was right…this first read is absolutely hilarious. Thanks fellow garage saler.

They have found a good home 💚📖😏
